• john strider’s ghostbuster-themed sword. every functional idea i had took a turn for the outrageously morbid [something about doomed!john souls?], but we worked it out and it basically captures the ghosts of enemies he defeats.
• dave egbert’s windy halberd [which i will fix later because i’m super unhappy with it]. does exactly what it looks like it would do. which is to conjure up killer gusts to put distance between foes and himself in combat.
• rose harley’s crossbow. forgive me for i know not how these things work hhrfhfrf. she prefers old-fashioned bows & arrows but grandpa insisted that she only use the latest technology. she also never leaves without multiple bolt quivers.
• jade lalonde’s knife fans. she likes to tinker with weapon hybrids [possibly inspired by the fantastical armaments you could find in RPG’s] and this is probably her most successful one. the release trigger is found on the hilt.

Something quick occurred to me.

What the heck was that all about?

Oh, hey there Frigglish. He greets you with a sly, conspiratorial purr, almost as if he was privy to what you dreamt. Which is impossible of course.

Remember John’s Ring of Life, which travels with him between his dreams and reality when he wears it? I asserted that it was very likely the same exact ring as the Ring of Void, that they’re both “one ring”, etc etc, and one of the justifications I used for it was that ability. Items mysteriously appearing and vanishing across distances have ties to Void, as - like pumpkins - one could say that this ring is:

The Green Sun, somewhat an embodiment of Light, is a practical fixture of the universe. Void is the opposite, and those tied with it tend to vanish flightily. So, when combined with the association dream bubbles have with the voidy Horrorterrors, I thought it reasonable to assume that John was able to grab that ring because of its Void ties.

However, this Jaspers connection makes it a little more blatant! And since Void is the tie-in, perhaps it wasn’t some mysterious property of Jaspers, but rather of Roxy herself, that helped the cat follow her into her dreams and back.

Aside from strengthening the Ring of Life <-> Ring of Void connection, this might tell us a little about Roxy’s god-tier Rogue of Void abilities. Could she perhaps intentionally bring things in and out of her dreams? Maybe warp at will across rather disconnected places using a similar principle? We’ve already figured that if a Matriorb is to be “found” rather than created, a Rogue of Void would be the most viable candidate to retrieve it.

It could be more than that, though! Calliope said that Roxy would be able to do amazing things, and we’re not really certain of the limits of her abilities. (Or what they are, really.)

So, and this is just a random thought, I wouldn’t put much weight behind it… normally, items in dream bubbles can only leave if they’re real. But what if Roxy can bring them to the real world, making dreams reality?
